馬刺與騎士不愧是全聯盟的頂尖球隊，馬刺昨以116比95殺得灰熊片甲不留，騎士100比98險勝活塞，兩隊在季後賽首輪皆以4比0橫掃對方晉級。

馬刺一改過去「鐵桶式」作戰模式，開打後頻頻強攻，撕裂敵軍防線，尤其是第三節的37比21攻勢，徹底摧毀原本就損兵折將、殘缺不齊的灰熊軍心。

馬刺教頭帕波維奇賽後不好意思的表示，對方球員用盡全力奮戰，展現出堅忍不拔的作戰精神，可惜這是一場不公平的比賽。

這是馬刺隊史第9次季後賽橫掃對手，其中灰熊就貢獻了3次，可說是灰熊在季後賽的天敵。

鄧肯的生涯季後賽出賽場次來到245場，超越霍瑞成為NBA史上第二人，如果馬刺一路闖進總冠軍賽，鄧肯有機會改寫費許保持的259場聯盟紀錄。

灰熊總教練耶格神情激動地說，這一季受傷的球員實在太多了，每場比賽都非常掙扎，如今球員終於可以好好休息，修復傷勢準備新球季到來。

厄文、詹姆斯、洛夫與J.R史密斯聯手攻下79分，加上替補的戴拉維多瓦11分，四劍客幫助騎士阻擋活塞最後反撲。詹姆斯連續4季帶領球隊季後賽首輪4比0淘汰對手，寫下傲人的16連勝紀錄。

此外，詹姆斯的季後賽場次182場，追平史塔克頓，史上並列第15，310次抄截則超越布萊恩，單獨排名第5。

東區另一場季後賽，塞爾提克與老鷹在正規賽打成92平手，延長賽老鷹僅得3分，塞爾提克以8比0攻勢奠定勝局，104比95扳成2比2平手。老鷹米爾沙普豪取45分，創個人季後賽新高，無奈孤臣無力可回天。
